Consumer Reports Online Now Accessible From Home

If you have a valid Algonquin Area Public Library card, you can now log in to the online version of Consumer Reports magazine from home and search hundreds of product reviews and recommendations! Just click on Consumer Reports Online in our list of databases.

New Languages for Learning Online

Our Powerspeak online language learning tutorials now include Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and ESL for Chinese speakers! French, Spanish, German, Mandarin, and ESL for Spanish speakers are also available. Powerspeak Languages is available for Algonquin Area Library cardholders only, and can be accessed via our webpage.

Back to School Book Sale August 4-7, 2011

The Friends of the Algonquin Area Public Library will be staging another of their tremendously popular book sales at the Eastgate branch starting Thursday, August 4 and running through Sunday, August 7. For full details about the sale, check out the Friends web page.

Come to the Algonquin Farmer's Market at downtown Riverfront Park on Thursday, September 29th to see the library "road show"! Librarians and Friends of the Algonquin Area Library will sell some of our nicer book donations and dazzle you with what's available at your library. In Memoriam: Debbie Mulcahy

We are saddened to share with you that Algonquin Area Public Library District Vice President Debra Mulcahy passed on the night of June 1.  Debbie served the district through several terms and was highly valued by her peers on the Board of Trustees. She will be missed!
