The Anime Club at AAPLD will be hosting a summer kick-off party on Thursday, June 10, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. The Club will be celebrating the end of our first year! All students grades 9-12 with an interest in anime and manga are welcome to attend. New to the group? You are still welcome to come! Get a feel for our very enthusiastic group and enjoy snacks and drinks provided by the library.

The club should hold free screenings of anime and perhaps hold discussions about the plot and background. Anime is not just a cartoon for kids to enjoy. It reveals a lot about cultures too.

Thanks for your comment Lauryn! Yes, our club agrees with you--Anime is not just for kids, and a lot of it is not for kids at all. Our Anime club watches shows, plays Anime-themed games and hosts cosplay events. We also have a group for adults that watches shows and reads manga. You are welcome any time! Just check our Events Calendar for dates. --Claire Matthews, Young Adult Librarian & Anime Fan.
